Meetings and Membership

Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at either 1:00 PM  or 6:45 PM at the North Wales Area Library Community Room unless indicated otherwise in the Program schedule. The library is located at 233 Swartley Street, North Wales, PA 19454.  Guests are welcome to attend three meetings per year!  Guests wishing to become members after January 31st may join the club for half the annual dues.

Dues ($30) are payable at the May meeting.

Programs and venue are subject to change.



September 9, 2024 at 6:45pm     Making a Fall Arrangement


Barbara Leiby, a skilled individual with vast experience in organizing weddings and a deep understanding of flowers and horticulture, will be demonstrating how to create a fall arrangement for you to take home. All containers and flowers will be supplied at a cost of $10.00.  Members only this time.




October 14, 2024 at 6:45pm The Perfect Perennial


Dave Guleke, the President of the Delaware Valley Daylily Society, will be giving a talk on "The Perfect Perennial."  With a lifelong passion for daylilies, Dave will delve into the origins of daylilies, their various types, colors, and cultivation tips during the presentation. Additionally, Dave will generously donate plants for the upcoming spring season.

Master Gardner Leigh Kieser will deliver a presentation titled "Gardens and Lawns: Easy Yards for Low Maintenance with High Style."




December 9, 2024 at 1:00pm Holiday Project

We will be creating a beautiful holiday pinecone swag under the direction of our president, Roberta Bourne.




March 10, 2025 at 1:00pm Permaculture Principles


Boris Kerzner from Grow Our Food will be giving a presentation on the basics of Permaculture. Permaculture, a design philosophy and practice established in Australia in the 1970s, is founded on the principles of earth care, people care, and fair share, offering an ecological path for us in 2024.




April 14, 2025 at 6:45pm Bonsai Trees

Scott White of the Bucks County Bonsai Society  will be giving a presentation on Bonsai Trees.  These trees are known for their beauty and elegance, serving as symbols of peace and harmony in various cultures.




May 12, 2025 at 6:45pm Ambler Arboretum Presentation


Kathleen Salisbury, the Director of Ambler Arboretum at Temple University, will discuss the History and Future of the university's Arboretum. Serving as Temple University's outdoor classroom, living laboratory, and public botanical garden, this 187-acre site holds a significant horticultural heritage, originating from the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women in 1911. Through an engaging and illustrated presentation, Kathy Salisbury, the Arboretum Director, will guide you through the Arboretum's history and offer insights into its future development.

Visiting a botanical garden can enrich your travels by educating you about plant families and showcasing the marvels of nature. Join Master Gardener Sharon Gross for a virtual exploration of the Garden of Simples, located within the National History Museum in Florence, Italy, namely the Botanical Garden, Giardino Dei Semplici.

Edward Weber from the Orchid Society will demonstrate techniques for cultivating and maintaining Orchids, including tips on keeping Phalaenopsis Orchids blooming beautifully.
